Tale 4: Tamiel’s Legacy

The darkness of Odyssey holds the greatest mysteries and adventures of all time, and the planet Hontwüd is the only one on Odyssey as supernatural as the mages themselves. Legend has it that the wizards and the entire magical order of Odyssey were created to fight a being. It was a great provider of unwanted darkness by Wizard – the ancient and most powerful King of the Magi – in Odyssey. The prophecy said that light would bring the fall of darkness, and light was Magical. His clothes naturally had a color unusual in history, lighter than all shades; its brilliance blinded the impure, and its light which, as the vast void would spread across Odyssey, would make the end of darkness.

Thus, only with the purity of Magico would Tamiel be stopped, the one being as powerful as any other already mentioned. Tamiel is said to be the age of time itself, and her hatred, which keeps the light from shining, kills any being who senses her presence.

When Tamiel learned that there was someone who would defeat him, he broke Odyssey’s laws and raised his army while weakening Magico. He gave power to the purest and enjoyed turning men into monsters. Tamiel could feel the darkness taking over every part of everything; expanding the darkness, he would reach Magico. But Magico was the light, and it would never be corrupted. The great Magus King never made a single attack on Tamiel, as he needed the superior order. But, now, why did the superior order never arrive? There had always been so much disgrace and so much harm for Odyssey, and it was all because of the darkness. Magician always told mages that the order had no foresight, but it would tell the darkness’ moment of weakness; order would complete light against darkness.

Indeed, the order was delayed, until the Time Lord attacked Odyssey, and the light and its brilliance had to sacrifice itself against an evil greater than darkness itself. Since then, Odyssey remains without light. However, Tamiel dared to move against the Time Lord, and was imprisoned by him under the surface of the planet Hontwüd. The damned soil makes the planet almost uninhabitable for living beings, and on it the only trees that exist grow from twisted trunks: a consequence of Tamiel’s eternal hatred. Thus did the Haunted Forest of Tamiel, where troubled souls and evil, suffering spirits hover. Legend has it that when you put your ear to the ground you can still hear Tamiel’s screams.

Even with Tamiel’s exile, the forest spirits still believe in their dark god and, with the intention of resurrecting him, perform human sacrifices in the center of the forest, on the stone table, which guards the heart of Tamiel’s human form . Some believe his heart is the key to absolute control of the darkness; for this reason, many men enter these accursed plains behind Tamiel’s heart, but none make it out of the forest, whether they are alive or dead; their souls become part of the forest and their bodies join the ground, serving as seeds for the horrible trees.

These forest stories haunt the children of Remgo County, home to the quietest and most humble people of Hontwüd. Remgo County is home to the best men on the planet, as well as the most cowardly. But as long as there is stillness there is no conflict, and as long as there is no conflict the light hovers. So they’re just a happy people – who love beer. But amidst so much satisfaction covered by smiles, there is the deep fear of the people of Remgo County: the Haunted Forest of Tamiel. They fear Tamiel so much that the pronouncing of his name is the only thing forbidden in this civilization. Remgo County is just eight miles from the forest, and it also holds the darkest stories about those accursed woods. The most famous story is that of a man of faith who entered the forest with the sacred mission to bring out the light and stop the darkness that was taking over the region. The man was a Cleric, born in County Remgo; his name was Alberto Peeno. He didn’t come back from the forest, and the light didn’t show. However, some believe that he created the legendary arrows, already inside the forest; the arrows were the only ones capable of killing Tamiel’s Guardian Spirits and piercing the dark god’s heart. The arrows await somewhere in the forest for the fearless man who will save Odyssey from the darkness. This man was believed to be a successor to Peeno, which is why this name is so famous in the county!

The current Peeno is a fearless warrior, willing to fight for Bia’s love. A young dreamer who loves his girl more than anything. Now how could a lover save Odyssey? Of course, no one can understand him, as he carries in his name the heaviest burden in the world. Peeno is currently a disappointment to the family; all your predecessors went after the legendary arrows in the forest – always after breeding a successor, of course! – but he can’t imagine being far from Bia, in a forest, perhaps waiting for death. “How can you live like this?” asks himself Peeno every day. And the answer soon comes: her name is Bia. “Oh, dear Bia…”. Bia is the daughter of the mayor of Remgo County, and the mayor, of course, hates the weakest Peeno ever. A forbidden and beautiful novel like that wouldn’t hold up in that context. So Peeno and Bia would flee the county, maybe the planet, but they would live the life they dreamed of.

But it was too good to be true! The county is a small place and news spreads quickly. So it was; word of the couple’s escape spread, and no one could understand how the people of Remgo County could have hope and faith in the divine light without a Peeno. Therefore, the only decision was taken by the people, painfully with the support of the mayor. Was made! On the night of Peeno and Bia’s escape, Peeno couldn’t find her. “Bia was taken to the Haunted Forest of Tamiel!” said the mayor himself. Peeno then looked into the mayor’s face; She shifted her gaze to the sky, and then to the ground, that’s when a tear trickled down her face. The mayor knelt and cried in front of Peeno, who looked out into the forest and started running towards it. I thought about Bia all the time; he had promised a life adrift in space with her, just the two of them; and had to comply.

Peeno ran without ceasing to the beginning of the forest. I was worried, not angry; he knew he would get Bia back. He loved Bia. So it was, when a man in love took his first step on the forest floor, that she shivered. The ground shook; the spirits screamed very loudly. They were screams of pain. Tamiel felt that step; he felt that presence… It was the Wizard’s light. Here was the order: a fearless warrior with immense faith. Tamiel was afraid; over its dark, accursed ground the Wizard’s light intensified, concentrated a meter in front of Peeno. There the King was reincarnated; it was the Magician himself! He held out his hands to Peeno, and in them, Wizard held five glowing arrows and a costume full of royal magic. “Shine!” said Magician. So Peeno put on his costume which soon began to glow, took the five arrows, and as soon as he took them from the Wizard’s hands, that glowing being disappeared. Peeno looked ahead, saw so many lost and frightened spirits. Afraid of the light; scared of him. That’s when the forest said: “I am Tamiel! You are the magician; I am the magic! You feel; I control!” Peeno smiled and replied, “I am Peeno! You are forest; I am pest! You have Bia; I have light!” Peeno felt a ray of light north of the forest: that was Bia. He turned towards its light and went on: “In you there is only death, Tamiel, but I feel the love!”
